Creating Organisations
When you register, an organisation is normally set up with the same name as your username.
However, it may be useful at times to create a new Organisation, perhaps as a company name, particularly when several users from a single firm are using DaDesktop in India.
NB: Creating an Organisation is a Super Admin feature only.
Creating Organisations in DaDesktop
There are two ways to create an Organisation: the first (default) creates an organisation owner account simultaneously, and the second does not require a separate organisation owner user account (for example, when one already exists).
Creating an Organisation and its owner user account
- The account owner's email, password, and first and last names must be provided. You may select roles as needed. The currency is determined by the portal used: dadesktop.com defaults to EUR, while dadesktop.cn specifies CNY.
- The Organisation name and a code are also required. Keep the code short; once set, it cannot be changed.
- The settings for Allowing course recordings or publishing recordings apply to ALL recordings within an Organisation. Similarly, the setting for Receiving Promotional Emails applies across the entire organisation.
- 'Allow Recordings' controls whether Recordings are available throughout the organisation.
- Private servers may be selected if required. Note that a server must be marked as 'Private' before it can be chosen here.
