SSH Access
For convenience, there is often a request for SSH access to DaDesktop machines, so that course participants and trainers can more easily reach their desktop environments from their personal laptop or desktop PC. Understandably, many prefer typing commands on their own local terminal rather than within a terminal on a remote Desktop.
Although this is technically possible, we do not permit SSH access in this scenario, as it would unnecessarily expose the DaDesktop course machines to significant potential security issues.
A drag and drop file file transfer capability has been introduced to that files can be easily added from your own laptop or desktop into the DaDesktop machine. Some requests for full SSH access stemmed from a previous lack of a file transfer method, but with this feature now available, using DaDesktop has become even simpler.
It should be noted that full QEMU Spice Desktop support is now available on Windows and Linux OS templates, making it far easier than before to copy and paste commands from your local machine to the DaDesktop machine, even when using a Mac or non-English character sets.
For DDOP - DaDesktop on Premise servers, SSH access is allowed if needed.
