DaDesktop

What DaDesktop is NOT

DaDesktop is a piece of software that hasn't been assigned a proper category just yet. Often, it's simpler to define DaDesktop by explaining what it isn't and how it stands apart.

Online Conference

Is DaDesktop an online conferencing tool like Zoom or Teams?

Typically, you'd still need to use Zoom, Teams, Skype, or WeChat while working with DaDesktop.

DaDesktop might incorporate built-in conferencing features in the future, but that isn't a current priority.

So, what do Zoom and DaDesktop have in common?

Both offer basic chat functionality.

Public Cloud

Is DaDesktop akin to AWS, Google Cloud, Azure, or Aliyun?

Public clouds or computing clouds are built for hosting applications, whereas DaDesktop is specifically designed for individuals to access remote desktops.

What similarities exist between AWS and DaDesktop?

From a user’s standpoint, there aren’t many parallels. Both do let you work on a remote machine and run software there. AWS EC2 targets system administrators, while DaDesktop is tailored for training participants, instructors, course coordinators, and management.

Some organisations still rely on AWS or other cloud platforms for delivering remote courses. However, typical public cloud solutions tend to be more expensive, slower, and less convenient than DaDesktop. DaDesktop is purpose-built for course delivery, not general-purpose computing.

Learning Management System (LMS)

Is DaDesktop similar to Moodle, Rise UP, Open edX, or other LMS platforms?

Learning Management Systems (LMS) are primarily designed to support education in settings like university courses or for online learning. DaDesktop, on the other hand, is built for instructor-led corporate training in India. Its target audience includes corporate employees, government personnel, and the like—it isn’t specifically tailored for school or university students.

DaDesktop emphasises an instructor-led delivery model, where the trainer is live and present throughout the course.

What are the commonalities between an LMS and DaDesktop?

DaDesktop packs a range of features that overlap with LMS capabilities and even go beyond them.

With DaDesktop, course administrators can enrol learners, monitor attendance, assess engagement, verify connections, and even record participants' screens during sessions.

Most of this happens largely automatically. For instance, trainers don’t need to manually check attendance—the data is captured in the system. DaDesktop can log user locations, connection durations, which exercises were attempted, which were skipped, and so on.

Those who miss a session can watch recordings later and practise in an environment identical to the one used during the live course.
