Resize disk of Fresh-start desktop in course

When an existing Fresh Start machine does not have adequate disk space, you can resize it easily to add more disk space
  1. First, you must stop the Fresh-Start machine
  2. Then Clone & Resize to Standalone as below (create an organisation if you haven't already) Clone - Resize to Standalone Desktop
  3. At this step, increase the disk size as required, and submit
  4. Click on the 'Standalones' link at the top of the page to find it and confirm it exists
  5. Navigate back to the course and delete the Fresh-Start machine using the 'Delete' button
  6. Click the 'Create Fresh-Start from my Standalone' button

  7. In the 'Create from Standalone' dialog box, you can also choose to increase the disk size if it wasn't done in the earlier step

  8. Add an alias name, if required, and then click the 'Create Desktop' button
  9. For standard DaDesktop Linux and Windows OS templates, the OS will be extended/grown automatically. Note: AlmaLinux standard templates configure their default partitions differently, which requires additional manual steps as shown below.
  10. For custom OS templates, the automatic extension of partitions may need to be performed manually; the steps are outlined below.

 

For custom OS templates and AlmaLinux standard templates, please follow the steps below to extend the partition(s)
  1. Follow the instructions to change your desktop partitions

    - Open terminal/cmd 
    - Type the commands below

    1.  Ubuntu & Debian
    Resize existing partition


    2.  Almalinux / CentOS
    CENTOS Resizing Partition wih LVM


    3. Windows 10 pro
    windows disk manager
