Resize disk of Fresh-start desktop in course
When an existing Fresh Start machine does not have adequate disk space, you can resize it easily to add more disk space
- First, you must stop the Fresh-Start machine
-
Then Clone & Resize to Standalone as below (create an organisation if you haven't already)
- At this step, increase the disk size as required, and submit
- Click on the 'Standalones' link at the top of the page to find it and confirm it exists
- Navigate back to the course and delete the Fresh-Start machine using the 'Delete' button
-
Click the 'Create Fresh-Start from my Standalone' button

-
In the 'Create from Standalone' dialog box, you can also choose to increase the disk size if it wasn't done in the earlier step
- Add an alias name, if required, and then click the 'Create Desktop' button
- For standard DaDesktop Linux and Windows OS templates, the OS will be extended/grown automatically. Note: AlmaLinux standard templates configure their default partitions differently, which requires additional manual steps as shown below.
- For custom OS templates, the automatic extension of partitions may need to be performed manually; the steps are outlined below.
For custom OS templates and AlmaLinux standard templates, please follow the steps below to extend the partition(s)
-
